July is here!

Where did the month of June go so quickly?
It's now full summer with high temperatures;
108 degrees plus sounded so good in winter
but now it's just to be endured daily.

Although time at the pool or sunbathing
is nothing to frown about, also precious leisure
time with few responsibilities are mine now
after many years of parenting and working.

To everything there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones,
and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate;
a time of war, and a time of peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

  2. Happy July to you. June was long and busy for me, but wonderful nonetheless.
    July here means cool days beginningg to warm up usually after the Fourth, picking raspberries every three days from our patch, sweet peas blooming, my birthday, and at the end of the month, the return of my family.
    Hurray for July!

  4. The passage is one of my very favorites Lin. My high school graduating class even sang it at our Baccalaureate. Wonderful words.
