Family Visit...

It's been a long time since family has visited us. So it was exciting to have a quick weekend with my son Dan, Tina and two of my grandkids: James and Heather who stayed here while her parents traveled to California to meet James' birth parents. It's so different having grandkids visit you rather than visiting them in their home. It's a time of planning activities, conversing, cooking and just being together whereas when you visit them in their homes-you are trying to fit into their routine. Here's some of what went on with social distancing...no hugs allowed yet.

One on one private conversations can't be beat

Making stir fry dinner together is fun.

It tastes better when you help cook it!
Sausage, onions, zucchini, carrots and cabbage served over rice

Guess who got a new Tesla car all electric-needs to be charged lots!

Dan and Tina on a quick vacation-they certainly keep busy with family

Yep that's my son with his mask mostly on...lol!

And the PARTIES CONTINUE

A very different birthday celebration than I had planned since the church is closed, travel limited, etc but did manage to enjoy the hundred or more greetings on Facebook, cards received via US mail, email and in person. A new decade as I am now EIGHTY YEARS OLD. Still relatively healthy and thankful for my many blessings that I can wake up and walk early while it's still cool and enjoy the sunrises in this part of the world. Our nearby church will be reopen sometime and in the meantime I can enjoy some meetings on Zoom. Also interact with family digitally if not in person and that I have my hubby Allen by my side for company and support.

Here we are at Maglebys, the masked Relief Society Presidency

We had to take off our masks in order to eat

It's HERE...my 80th BIRTHDAY

Had wanted to plan a big celebration but it will be online, phone, mail and in person celebrating because of social distancing! Going to keep track and I bet I hear from at least 80 friends and family before the day is over!!

Had to laugh at hubby who said I shouldn't have to make my own cake.

But I do because you can't buy a sugar free bday cake

And here it is, thanks to Pillsbury sugar free cake mix

And there's even sugar free frosting but not 80th candles...lol!

July is HALFWAY OVER!!

I haven't stopped blogging just doing most of it on other sites like FACEBOOK, etc. But here are some photos I took while on my early 6 am walk before the sun comes up and while it's still below 70 degrees. We are now at 105 during the hot part of the day, so we hibernate inside with the AC on.

The front door was ready for The Fourth of July

Blooms from one of the many yucca plants in the yard

Love the Sunflowers that are already blooming

Note the different shape of these petals

Lantana blooms are colorful and bright

Oleander bushes are all in bloom now

Trumpet vines are showing their  colors

Rose bushes are still trying to bloom

These roses are about done for this year.
