Having Fun with Friends

Time to get out and have fun. Going to lunch and shopping with my friend Caryn is always fun. Here's a photo of us eating at our favorite local restaurant Tifinis Crepe shop. We are enjoying their scrumptious French onion soup and tasty turkey bacon avocado tomato sandwiches with carrot salad. So GOOD!

What other things have I been up to...starting taking beginning piano lessons just for fun as I bought my self a casio electronic keyboard, attended the Cedar City temple with my friend Dianne, enjoyed Relief Society meeting about making bread with a hot chocolate bar, then DUP-Daughters of Utah Pioneers meeting on history lessons. Enjoying our 56 degree weather though knowing it won't last it's one of the reasons I like to live in St. George. Been reading lots and blogging so my days are filled with meals to prepare, etc.

Time to BLOG AGAIN

Here we are being asked to mask up again at Church meetings

I do BLOG daily on FACEBOOK so that might explain my absence here on lettersfromlin.blogspot.com Doing well with some RESOLUTIONS-trying to exercise or walk daily-note the word TRY! I have so much TIME being retired to pick and choose how to use my energy and time. For several years now I've kept the resolution to STUDY SCRIPTURES and GOSPEL MATERIALS daily-it sets the mood for my day along with PRAYER at 6 am. Then JOURNALING helps me keep track of me. Trying to be more POSITIVE and REACH OUT MORE helps my focus. LOVE connecting with family and friends be it in person, phone or emails. Tell us what you are doing with your NEW YEAR as the Virus continues!

BIRTHDAY TIME for my son DANIEL

Amazing how fast 53 years can pass but the memories are still there of my second child Daniel born on a freezing subzero Wisconsin morning in 1979 when I was a young 29. I already had one son and was anxious to have a companion for him so he wasn't raised alone. Went on to have four sons in total and years of scouting, soccer and school activities. Daniel was a happy little guy who loved art and became a peacemaker with his Hatch brothers and a great example to his much younger brother Jeff from a second marriage. We have shared so many wonderful deep conversations about life, God and the meaning of our challenges. Happy Birthday dear son. Love you so much. Thanks for all you have done and do for me including introducing me to the world of computers plus taking me to Alaska on my first cruise ever with your family!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022!

Well we managed to stay up until almost 10 pm which is NEW YEAR'S in New York. Hubby watched FOOTBALL games and I worked on my FAMILY HISTORY research which I find so very interesting to discover relatives I didn't know I had and about their lives. Amazing.

I'm doing research right now on my stepfather's extended family in Wyoming and discovering fascinating facts about their lives in the 1900s as so many were immigrating to America from Scandinavian and Austria-Poland to work in the mines, to marry and start families. Then as WWI and WWII came along they were drafted and fought in the battles, leaving their wives at home to manage with their many children.

GENEALOGY has been an hobby of mine since 1960-so that 62 years of pursuing my ancestors and learning more of their lives. I know one day I will meet them but what about my LIVING FAMILY? They are BUSY with their own lives and I am so thrilled when we do make CONTACT. Not so many actual visits during these COVID YEARS but with a simple PHONE CALL or EMAIL lights up my day and reaffirms our connection and LOVE. FAMILY is what it's all about and some FRIENDS are like family.
