Thankful for NOVEMBER

It's really fall or that time after the HOT HOT SUMMER and before the COLD WINTER in St. George. It will be a short period of time but enjoyable none the less as I can now enjoy sitting outside in my patio in coolness after the 100+ degree days of our summer that lasted May-Oct. Life has a way of teaching us about patience whether it's relationships or weather. Each day there is something to learn about ourselves that can help us improve and become better. Been rereading some old journals of mine from 2007 when we  first moved to St. George and note that I'm still dealing with some of the same problems in my life that I had then. Hmm...

Where is the time going?

Do you feel TIME is passing by too quickly? I'm enjoying lots of CREATIVE opportunities to help others: leading our local POETRY WORDSHOP in improving their poetry, others to find their pioneer ancestry so they can join DUP-Daughters of Utah Pioneers, HELPING with editing their written documents for work (Daniel) and for posting family memories on familysearch.org (Sandra). Trying to keep in touch with FAMILY over Facebook, messenger and emails BUT something is missing. Physical contact and interaction! HUGS! Are we sometimes too BUSY with our lives?

Recent Poetry conference attended with lecture on Metaphors
by Lance Larsen-BYU English Dept Chair/Poet Laureate

First great grandchild Gabby with parents Daniel/Emilee
growing up too fast, they will visit us at Thanksgiving time

Thankful for  hubby's company and help with house/yard!

Love the coolness of fall and decorations!

TEMPLE TIME

Our St. George temple built in 1877 is closed for renovation so a group of us from our branch headed to Las Vegas Temple which is about 1.5 hrs away. It's beautiful and so peaceful inside. A place to fill your well. We now have 265 temples built/and or planned throughout the world-it's amazing!

Northwest of downtown Las Vegas on a hillside sits this temple

It's a barren Mohave desert with lots of freeway traffic.

Inside the Celestial Room is all white with sunlight streaming
through the stained glass windows-feels like heaven

The last time here was 2018 when Jeff/Rachel married

AUTUMN LEAVES TRIPTIME

As autumn leaves were at their peak this last weekend, we managed to get up into the local mountains near Virgin  and see some fall colors on the drive to Kolob Reservoir.

Love the red maple leaves we don't have many red ones here.

This year we got up in the mtns early enough to see some colors

Looking back on the valley below-breath taking

Yellow aspen trees are just turning now, some still green

Lots of summer cabins up in Kolob Reservoir area

You pass through part of Zion National Park getting there

Amazing rock formations every where from Zions

October is here!

Last month flew away somehow...I got busy with several projects and events. Most of my posting is on Facebook which is sometimes linked to my blog. Been dealing with eye issues as my specialists try to treat my left eye for glaucoma AND retina problems. Treatment for one problem makes the other problem worse and vice versa-interesting how that works. Still blessed to see 100% in my right eye.

Displays at Freis Fruit stand-fall is here...

Fun variety of colors and shapes of pumpkins

Our weather has cooled some and we love the cooler days and the pumpkins appearing in our fruit stands and grocery stores. Want to go see the autumn leaves in the nearby mountains but it's still too early for autumn in our desert city.
