Knock and it shall be opened... Just received this email the other day. Hello Lin, Congratulations! You have been accepted as one of our speakers at the upcoming St. George Family History Expo in St. George, Utah February 25-26, 2011! Please read through the attached speaker agreement. Also attached is the syllabus instruction sheet. Sign and return the agreement immediately. We hope to get the schedule online immediately. If you have questions let me know.
I had submitted a proposal to teach a class for the upcoming Family History Expo 2011. I taught a class on Family History Blogging two years ago. Then applied to teach the same class last year, but got no response. So I thought the same thing had happened again this year. But I will be teaching Learning to Speak Out-Tips on how to project yourself better in terms of body language, voice quality, and enthusiasm. Be more effective in teaching family history whether lecturing or working one on one. Build confidence in your own abilities by focusing on your teaching goals, and improving your total communication.
This is my BIO-Lin Floyd has over fifty years experience in family history as a researcher, teacher, writer and consultant. She publishes her ancestors’ histories on a website and on a blog. Writing a weekly column for the Senior Sampler entitled “Looking Back,” she encourages everyone to write his or her life story. I'm excited, I love to teach. No pay, but I get a free admission to the family history conference worth $55! My goal for the New Year is to help others find their VOICE and CONNECT.
