I co-chaired with Marilyn Richardson a Write A Day Away workshop for our local writers group yesterday. How fun was that? We had 13 people total that attended with 6 different teachers. Our 45 minute sessions included instruction, writing exercises and sharing. Sessions were given on: "Writing Morning Pages" by Beth Moore, "Clustering to Break Dead Ends" by Lin Floyd, "Writing Poetry-Yes You Can" by Marilyn Ball, "Fiction and Non-fiction: Building Sand Castles" by Dorothy Varney. Next was lunch followed by sessions on: "Mixed Metaphors" by Virginia Grenier and ending with "Better Character Descriptions" by Marilyn Richardson. An enriching, stimulating day of exploring the written word with other talented writers. Also attending were: Leisa Hafen, Ann Kearns, Rosemarie Pritchard, Mary Sagers, and Marie Tollstrup. We were hosted by Caroll Shreeve-our HWG Heritage Writer's Guild President.
