New Harmony views

Last Tuesday, I returned for a Christmas luncheon to where we used to live 30 miles north of where we live now. This is the view of Zions Park Kolob Fingers we had out our front room window in New Harmony. It's beautiful but snowy, cold and windy in winter. I love the weather where we are now...it was 60 degrees today and sunny in the middle of winter. Click to see photos larger.

  3. I loved watching the fingers light up at sunset. I kind of miss my parents living there. I loved visiting Zions. There were so many fun places to hike and ride 4-wheelers down there. Their property is more beautiful now, but the surrounding area in New Harmony was more fun.

  6. Beautiful mountains! I lived in Salt Lake for a year, many years ago and the views from there were stunning, too. I could have used some 60 degree weather today, too!

  8. and why are they called Kolob Fingers? I hate the mountains in Provo area but that one year after the reunion, when we traveled south through St. George and then on into Arizona I thought, "now these are mountains I could enjoy" so stark and forbidding and yet somehow they were comforting. Odd contrast in emotions Loved it, tho!

  9. Ahhh yes. The Five Fingers. I do miss them! And Chandi's right. There were some really fun things to do nearby when we lived in our New Harmony home. Sometimes I wish we could toss the renters out... but then, I could always stay with my sister or my good friend, Lin and play for a few days. I wonder why I don't!

New Harmony had 17 to 22 inches of snow Monday. And St. George had some patchy snow and was co-co-cold when we drove through on Tuesday. What the heck?? We hit snow in Barstow and drove through it almost the entire way to Las Vegas. It was a miserable drive!
