It's November again!

A new month to be thankful for,
an extra hour lost last spring returns
as daylight savings says goodbye.
I always like a clean slate to start
over on resolutions, review goals.

Don't know why we have to wait
for New Year's day. Each day can be
an occasion for celebration, starting
over, doing better than the last day.

Happy New November, on to the
holidays and family celebrations.

  1. Omaheck! I forgot about daylight sasvings. When is that (was that) again?

I grew up loving November!! It was always a lovely time of year in California. Of course, I was born in November, as was my only daughter, Chandelar. That's good reason to celebrate. But, when I was in my tender years, Thanksgiving was such a joyful time. All of my relatives , I mean ALL of my relatives, gathered at our home to visit and catch up on one another's lives... and wolf down my mother's goodies. We had a main meal for immediate family, and then an open house for all comers. My mom had the table heavily laden with food, healthy and not so healthy. Aunt, uncles, cousins, neighbors, dad's employees all popped in and out of the house the entire day. I loved it. I never undersdtood why so many people came on a day that I thought they'd be home with their own...but they did.

Her Christmas open house is something I'll talk about another time. It went on for days.

I think you're so right about being able to start over any time. I shall be forever and always be grateful for second chances..and third..and fourth...

  2. Happy New November back to you!

My husband and I got married 10 years ago this month! So November is a very good month in my books. (Interesting thing, my brother and one sister each had their weddings in November, so three of us celebrate this time of year).

Thanks, Lin, for dropping by my place and leaving a note. I look forward to connecting in the future.

    Have a wonderful day!
    Brenda

  3. I, too, like to think that we can start anew each day, we don't have to stay in the same old rut until someone tells it's time to start over or renew or whatever. As the sun comes up each day on a brand new one that's not likely to be exactly like the day before, we too have the opportunity to have a new day. Thoughtful post, thanks!

  4. I am a November fan. And Flo will be 97 on the 21st. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and usually not enough snow to slow things down. Amen!
