Earth Day Poem

God is there, even in small things
The curve of a sea shell, a starfish,

The patterns of waves reclaiming the beach
While depositing sand to rebuild the shore

Will I ever know Him and
Feel His love for me His child

Every day I feel His loving care
As I live with beauty all around me

  1. I liked this. I share the same sentiments. I feel God's love in so many things. The intricate details of a flower, the beautiful colors of fall leaves, and in the crazy formations of clouds.

  2. Will you ever know Him and feel His love for you, His child?
    hmmm...
From the sounds of this "Earth Day Poem" I'd say the answer to that is a resounding YES! You will. And you do!

I have to admit, that although the temples that man built for God are a peaceful place to visit, and it's rewarding for me to know that I've answered the call to serve... I feel the presence of my Father in Heaven so much more in the temples that God built for man.

There is nowhere that I can speak more freely with my Father than in a grove of trees, beside a softly flowing creek, digging my bare feet into warm sand, or sitting under the branches of an oak tree. God is indeed everywhere in nature...

AND it's important for me to also notice His handiwork in the aged, tearing, eyes of the elderly sister in relief society, the work stained and twisted fingers of the old farmer next door, the bent and weary body of the lost and lonely man walking the streets of Los Angeles, the dimpled smile of my grandchild... Man is the greatest of all His creations and I always want to look at every man through our Father's eyes, with the love, tenderness, and hope for them that He would have me see them with. There is such unbelievable beauty to be found in the soul of man!
