Tranquility

Find a moment of tranquility within your day and savor it.

Tranquility, an elusive essence
God’s peace in our busy lives
Comes unannounced as we seek
Quiet times in the midst of the tumult
That is our modern day life

Nature fills our soul with beauty
Innocence and joy all manifested
In a single flower opening or
Watching young wildlife frolic
Yet we spend all our time indoors

What brings tranquility to your life?

  1. I LIVE outdoors. Wayne and I eat every meal on the patio... breakfast, lunch and dinner. Any and every chance we can, we're out in the yard. Even when we're in the house, the whole south side is windows, and we still feel like we're outside. Although, I admit, we've watched the deer walking across the lawn, the cardinals frolicking in the trees,
the squirrels eating every last apricot off the tree, the lop earred rabbit that showed up last fall leaping from his burrow to his next meal in our garden.. all from the comfort of the down stuffed cushions on the oh, so comfy, chairs in our living room.

Your poetry just keeps getting better, Lin. Great job!

  2. Nature gives me tranquility more than anything else. Except climbing in between the sheets at the end of the day and saying,'Thank ya Jesus.'

  3. Lin,
That is a beautiful poem. Like Caryn, I live outdoors. Can't stand to be inside more than necessary.

The greatest source of tranquility for me is the sight of deer grazing in a nearby meadow. Just fills me up!

  5. Just reading this brought momentarily tranquility. This is beautiful, Lin, so peaceful. Soothing music is my choice.
