Monsoon time

It's July-hot and muggy as the temps heat up.
Fluffy monsoon clouds gather every afternoon, then
torrents of welcome rain fall upon the thirsty desert soil.

Relief comes as single drops are multiplied by millions,
driven downward flooding gullies and puddling on streets.
I, too, need that sudden cooling when my life spirals out of control.

Change sometimes slows down frantic progress and reveals
hidden beauties taken for granted. Just breathing in and out,
no health issues for the moment, my thankful prayers ascend.

  1. Glad you're getting some rain relief. My daughter called this morning to say they had 90 degrees yesterday and then a horrendous storm that knocked down branches from their trees. The weather is really weird these days.

  2. We could use some rain as it is so hot and humid..true we need to take time to look at the small things we may take for granted...
