Making a schedule

Being retired, it becomes a challenge to ORGANIZE more effectively.
Without the work routine or children's needs it's easy to waste time.
It's a CHALLENGE to make the best use of EACH moment in my day
in terms of my PRIORITIES and GOALS so that I can feel productive
but not OVERWHELMED which is easy it requires constant adjustment.

Perhaps a NAP in the afternoon or a long WALK to clear out my head
or getting away for a day or two to VISIT FAMILY can help me focus
on what's MOST important. There are always the DAILY practices of
putting ME together with face, hair and clothes and more importantly
PRAYER, journaling&scriptures to direct my energies for the new day.
(Photo of the duck pond again, lol!)

A comfortable schedule emerges with time for surprises I like to call
SERENDIPITY, those marvelous opportunities that come suddenly.
I'm finding lots of those as I'm pursuing my CREATIVITY and TALENTS
following my theme for this year CONNECTING, I want to help others
to FIND THEIR VOICE and grow in SELF CONFIDENCE in good ways.
(That's my friend Caryn above, lunching at Red Mountain Resort.)

  1. When you are retired, there is no such thing as wasted time. We just choose to not be busy or productive. And it's OK.

  2. I like Linda's take on retirement. I think I'll have a tough time with it, too (that is if I ever get to retire). I've been out of school for a week and haven't really done anything productive. Just catching up on shows recorded on the DVR. I need to get back to work!

  3. Before I retired I did everything...work two jobs, care for my family, the house, all the school & church activities with the boys and now that I am retired it seems like there isn't enough hours in a day to accomplish so much that I need to do in a day, plus I rarely take that long awaited nap...sometimes I wish I could go back to those busy years with my family at home.
