Unbelievable beauty in field after field and on the sides of the highway.
Enjoying another field of bluebonnets in the Hill country of Texas.
Lots of grass for these cows to nibble all day long.
Never saw so much water everywhere in Texas.
Lots of cowboy and cowgirl boots to choose from.
A real bargain for cowgirls and only $795!
The Texas longhorn, symbol of my husband's alma matter UT-Austin.
Anyone need a saddle or some spurs for riding your horse?
Turkey vultures waiting on pecan trees for road kill.
Good bye to west Texas until our next trip...
onto New Mexico, Arizona and Utah
That's a pretty wonderful bunch of pictures...both of you look fabulous together. The third picture of cows nibbling the grass looks like a postcard..its awesome.I like the shoes too and the long horn.A wow trip.
ReplyDeleteHow strange ,we live in the same planet ..i am sipping my evening tea(its 5.20pm)while at the other end your Monday has just began.
Just wanted to say good morning and see where were are in your travels. On the way to New Mexico, I see. Hope all goes well. Do you listen to tapes when you're on the road? Do you read? Do you drive Allen crazy wanting him to stop so you can take another photo? How else would you get all of your lovely pictures?
ReplyDeleteI know you like music, but doesn't that lull you to sleep? I don't want to take a snooze... I'm afraid I'll miss seeing something.
When Wayne gets in the mood to talk...he talks non stop, but when he's feeling quieter...it can be 100 miles before he says anything.
Come back again soon! We really enjoyed your visit. We are heading for the Hill Country of Texas next Monday. Hope the wildflowers are still pretty. Thanks for sharing your pictures. I've saved some to iPhoto. Thanks for not posting that I took you to the wrong cemetery; I'll never forget that mistake!
ReplyDeleteCousin in Gatesville
Yes, from your pics I can see that there is great beauty in West Texas in the spring time. Looking forward to your next leg of the journey.
ReplyDeleteI've never thought of Texas as being green, but your photos certainly prove me wrong, Lin.
ReplyDeleteJean, just wait, summer is coming and Texas won't be green then.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the Texas trip. I always enjoy seeing the bluebonnets in the Hill Country.
Nice photo Lin of you and your husband. And I love the bluebonnets! I've enjoyed tagging along and look forward to the next adventure!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers.. My daughter bought cowboy boots when she lived in OK as everyone had them. Not too much use here in New York or in PA though... but they are very nice... Michelle
ReplyDeleteHow much does a cow girl earn to afford a $795 pair of boots? Make sure she doesn't walk in the pool to herd the cows. LOL
ReplyDeleteTexas is huge. And beautiful. The subtle but vast swaths of color and light are delightful.
ReplyDeleteThis is all new to me!! I have never been to Texas. I hope to visit someday!
