Not taking things PERSONALLY

Wow is that a big STUMBLING block in my life.
How about you? Here's an example-REJECTION
from publishers/distributors of my newest book.
How do you NOT take that personally? It isn't easy.

Life is a process. There will be good and bad
experiences. I KNOW that. So why do I always
EXPECT only the good and not roadblocks
along the way. Guess I'm just HUMAN like you.

I can talk the talk ACT don't REACT but when
it comes time to walk the walk-that's different.
I take it personally. When I feel rejected by
someone especially family it's hard to ACT.

WRITING about my feelings helps a ton and
becoming an OBSERVER-trying to figure out
what is happening INSIDE of me at all times
and trying to STOP those negative little voices.

New BEGINNINGS

Been in a slump for the last little while
wondering what project to start next
and discouraged with trying to market
my lovely useful inspiring book to others.

Got an email about a class being offered
in our community at the Zion's Healing Arts
Center-they do quite a bit of alternative
classes like yoga, art therapy and more.

So I attended a class called
the Four Agreements to discuss
some useful principles to live by:
1. Be impeccable with your word
2. Don't take anything personal
3. Don't make assumptions and
4. Always be your best.

It's an interesting class using a book
written by Don Miguel Ruiz, a native
American healer. And there is a strong
possibility that I can teach a writing
or poetry class for the center plus have
my POETRY in ACTION group perform.

NEW BEGINNINGS...are opening up!

June is BUSTING out all over

Whether we are ready or not
June is here with its promises
of summer heat and new activities.

Today the temps will be in the high 80s,
with 90s and 100s coming soon.
My body needs to adjust to AC again.

The seasons have been quite temperamental
this year as we have returned to winter
then jumped ahead to spring, only to retreat.

We can be like the climate-fluctuating
changing, not sure of where and what to do
when or able to sustain new growth that is needed.
