First we would look for the straight sided pieces and put them together to make the outline of the puzzle. Later this became a guide as we looked at the top of the puzzle box at the finished picture. It was a fun project that could take as much or as little time as you wanted. And was always waiting for us between visits.
Nowadays few grandchildren are interested in puzzles as they have so many electronic and computer games that take up their time. But it was a real sense of accomplishment as I recently took the time each day to work on an unused corner of our dining table to put together a 500 PIECE PUZZLE. My largest ever.
I have simpler ones here for grandkids and I think the biggest I've done is 250 pieces. That I did last with my son Daniel when he was here for short visit and the two of us enjoyed working late into the night talking and puzzling until it was completed. When is the last time you took the time to put together a puzzle?
