Children's Poems

For some reason I got an idea for a poem for children while on vacation. Here it is:

THE MONARCH

Wiggly little caterpillar,
what would happen
if you got the giggles
or happened to tickle
another slow mover
who is just like you.

It won’t be long now
till you wrap yourself up
into a tight cozy cocoon,
only to take a long nap
then later emerge as a
glorious beautiful butterfly.

You’ll spread your new wings,
find friends just like yourself
and fly many long miles
to a warmer place somewhere
down south, near Texas or Mexico.
What a fun adventure you'll have then.

It's MAY DAY again!

Celebrating LABOR UNIONS today, but how about all the MOTHERS who are the original labor unions throughout history and in all species. Love ...
