CENTURY Plant

A century plant in our community that is blooming
Interesting blooms...it only blooms once then dies.
This bloom is about 20+ feet high
Day lilies are blooming in our yard-one a day then the bloom dies
Purple sage tree in our yard is blooming too.

Century plants, a kind of agave, are fascinating. I have seen them in bloom when visiting the southwest. You will have to check this one out as it dies to see if it is setting "pups" at its base.

The Century plant is amazing. I'd never heard of it before. My tiger lilies are about to bloom.

Why do they call it a Century Plant, anyway? They are interesting.
