I must say I'm getting excited for my Icelandic trip.
I leave Wednesday am but I'm already packed.
Worried that I'm taking more than fifty pounds,
I decided to pack and see how much I do have.
The good news is it's only 31 pounds, of course
not everything is packed yet, but the necessities:
clothes, shoes, underwear, tripod, umbrella,
coat, swim suit, hose, peppermint tea and splenda!
I will be gone 14 days which is probably my longest
vacation so far away from my husband of 18 years.
He has many plans to get started on building his boat
while we experience this temporary separation.
What do I hope to find in Iceland? Some of my roots.
Perhaps the opportunity to meet unknown cousins,
descendents of my 2nd great grandmother Vilborg. I just
know I've wanted to make this trip for a long time.
I will take many photos and videos to share on my return,
perhaps I'll write some poetry and keep a journal.
I even have a few Book of Mormons, if anyone is interested.
It will be a serendipitous adventure connecting with the past.
