Root bound...

Lately I've noticed for several weeks (actually months)
that some of my larger plants aren't looking healthy.
Despite more watering and attention, leaves are
yellowing then turning brown and falling off.

Danger signals that something is drastically wrong
maybe the plant has grown too big for the pot it's in
and is ROOT BOUND. So the time finally came
to repot the plant and sure enough it was true.

With no room to grow, the roots were a mass
of intertwined tangled shoots looking for
nourishment and room to spread out and grow.
I sometimes feel like that too-time for change.

Not replanting, but sometimes just a minor
adjustment of attitude will do the trick.
Gratitude instead of self centerness helps lots.
Giving instead of expecting, repentance is key.

  3. One thing I learn from years of having spider plants, is that they love the morning sun. Place them near a window or patio that gets morning sun and they will thrive. They like to be watered twice a week and the sun morning sun only keeps them from getting brown leaves....Millie

  4. Root bound plants are killing me...or they did kill themselves in our yard last summer during the drought. Bummer...

  5. I like the connection, you said that very well. Hope those plants begin to thrive soon. I really don't like when they go into shock for a while.
