Progress...bought a new mattress and pillow

Can't remember how long it's been since we bought our mattress but hubby is complaining of back and neck aches after sleeping. So, it was time to go shopping to find a new one. Wow, have prices changed. I found a pillow that I love, it's memory foam and only $69! That's about what I would pay for a mattress in the good old days. Ours was on sale for $1599––a real steal, lol! We tried out several mattresses at our local Mattress Store and found just the right one as Goldilocks would say. It's pillow top but not memory foam, wrapped coils or something like that.

We like queen beds not king size as our bedroom isn't that big and I also don't like to hunt for my husband on the other side of the bed. Plus now I don't need to buy new mattress covers, sheets and bedspread. I love our bedspread and it's only 11 years old. It matches our colors aqua or turquoise in our bedroom.  We get our new bed next week but have our new pillows to use now. Comfy!

Twins RULE!

So happy to have identical twin grand daughters: Emilee and Heather. They were my first grand children and so eagerly anticipated by their parents and the whole family. The first grands and great grands on my side of the family brought miracluously to us through adoption then sealed forever to our family in the Mt. Timpanogos temple. I love you and all my other grand children.
Photo taken by Heather on the right of her sister Emilee on the left. Love you both!
Here they are at age 18, they will soon be 20 in May...

Hectic WEEK-but it went fast...

Life has a way of bringing little unexpected SURPRISES to us...keeps you on your toes I guess you could say. Also makes you be GRATEFUL for just ordinary days with ROUTINES that we take for granted: the COMFORTS of a warm home, food to eat, a body that continues to function, OPPORTUNITIES to learn and grow from challenges that come our way. Been enjoying the OLYMPICS watching the ice skating or dancing especially, being amazed at the skills, and commitment involved to perform at that level. Looking back and remembering my earlier years of ballet lessons and rehearsals that were so fun. Now I've SLOWED DOWN but can still walk around the block safely and participate in lots of enjoyable activities: church. Daughters of Utah Pioneers, poetry, family history, indexing, daily journaling, visiting with friends and family. Here's some photos of my friend Caryn's home and her decor for Valentine's day.

Caryn's table decoration for Valentines Day
Some of Caryn's necklaces...
Fun collection of pottery
Caryn and her beauty crowns-amazing and wigs too.
I love her huge bedroom and especially the kiva fireplace!
Any one need dark glassses or reading glasses?
New area rug that Caryn found for her living room
Love her mantle arrangements with frames.
