PEACH TIME....

In our yard when we moved in was this tiny miniature peach tree probably about 4 ft high. It hasn't grown much but is prolific with peaches during the summer that are usually eaten before we can save them by the local raccoons who sneak about at night. Luckily this year a new neighbor hasn't picked his peaches off their bigger tree, so our little tree escaped the raccoon stealings. We have enjoyed eating peaches on everything including yogurt and yesterday made a peach pie. Yummy!

Now the work begins, hubby will help of course!

Lots of peach peeling/slicing for 4 cups of peaches

Store bought crusts of course-easier and faster

Delicious peach pie a la mode will only last a few days...

Temple Trip finally...

After 20 months of not attending the temple because of Covid and all temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints being closed worldwide (we have 252 temples), it was exciting to attend again. Our temple in St. George is closed for renovation, so I traveled to Cedar City-40 miles north of us. Had a peaceful spiritual experience.

Traffic jam on way home, backup for 2 hours

Peaceful sunset to watch as we wait to travel

AUGUST and FAMILY VISIT

First week of AUGUST is over already. Had a SURPRISE VISIT from my youngest son Jeff and his two kiddos: Rory and Eddie. We did the town in 100 plus weather and smoke from the California forest fires. Did manage to play lots of indoor games, put together a puzzle, looked at old scrapbooks and blogs with photos from way back in our family's history. Lots of time to eat, talk and visit. Attended church together and ate out a couple of times. All in about 3 days time. Will miss seeing them around. Click to enlarge collage.
