More window shopping

A fun Southwestern decor shop in Santa Clara....
Love fake cactus plants that look real and decorative pots

My southwestern decor is mostly not authentic, this stuff isn't cheap!
3D artwork in back with colorful yuccas in a wooden bowl..
Love the warm colors and textures in every corner of this shop.
These colors are so soothing and remind me of Santa Fe, NM
Would love to add to this a spare corner of my home
but there are no spare corners...lol!
Interesting sculpture and beautifully designed table runners
Candles, pottery and sculpture capture a mood.
Real looking yucca plants are just plastic.
Busy but beautiful, love wooden furniture with designs
All plastic plants and realistic looking.

Winter BIRDS

Photo and free verse poem by Lin Floyd

Little dove sitting huddled on a bare branch,
feathers fluffed against the biting winter winds,
how do you survive season after season?

Watching out for hungry hawks searching
for a tasty tidbit, finding a mate then nesting
nearby continues the wonder of new life.

Year after year, your routine doesn't vary,
patterns planted by nature over time
written in your DNA and instincts forever.

I too cling to old patterns and routines,
day after day seeking comfort and warmth
from winter's vicissitudes and daily trials.
.
I long for spring and new growth to return
as winter birds wait to sing their mating songs.
Summer will return with its promises.

Monday again...

Amazing how fast the days fly by and it's another new week to enjoy. Today it was suppose to be our first snow but it's only RAIN and that's fine. That's why we live in the desert to avoid the snow. So far no snow-we usually get at least one morning with the white stuff then it melts. Though two years ago it didn't melt and the temps plummeted and our palm tree fronds froze and some trees didn't survive the cold. Our bushes and palms are fine so far.

Interesting how weather is such a part of our lives. Whether or not the sun shines or it's cloudy does affect our moods. I'm a sunshine person. It just feels warmer when the sun is shining no matter the temperature. Welcome to FEBRUARY. The month of winter still but Valentine's day and the promise of SPRING which always brings HOPE!
