EXPLORING A GHOST TOWN

It's been several years since we've driven out to Grafton. It's on the way to Zion Park, but  you have to take a road near the end of Main Street in Rockville that say Bridge Street or 200 East. Then it's about 5 miles over an historic bridge pass several homesteads then eventually to a dirt road. Finally you are there at Grafton settled in 1859 then deserted years later because of flooding and lack of accessibility to larger towns. Amazing step back in history of early Utah.

Went looking for autumn leaves but too early for that.

Daughters of Utah Pioneers started again....

It's been since Feb that our DUP group hasn't met so it was fun to get together again-even in masks to learn more about the history of our Utah Pioneers. Here's some photos of some of us-there were quite a few there and more watching at home via ZOOM. What would we do without ZOOM. Maybe return to normal. Also started church again in the church last Sunday. WOW! I could get to like this!

So EXCITED, we get to return to LIVE church meetings

It's been a very long time since I've physically been in my church for a meeting as we were cancelled attending in early March because of the Corona Virus. That's over 6 months ago...the longest I've ever missed going to Church or the temple in my life. I discovered that it's possible to worship at home or through Zoom meetings and continue learning and progressing at home with prayer, study and service. A valuable lesson learned in better using my time and staying focused. Below our Church steeple is only a block  away. This Sunday half of our congregation will be attending, then next Sunday the other half. Everyone can watch on Zoom that aren't able to attend in person.

The closest temple open to us is in Cedar City and though not open for all temple work to be done. I can still do genealogy research, turn in names for temple work and upload photos and my ancestor's stories to http://familysearch.org

SEPTEMBER is here...

Still working with old negatives and reliving the past through the photos that are revealed. Amazing all these images are stored in our brain and in time to relive and learn from no matter our age. I'll attach a few more.

Can't believe I was ever this skinny-age 20
