Temple Experiences

My grand daughter Emileee is leaving on her mission to Paris, France on July 5th. In preparation for that special occasion, she was able to attend the LDS Temple. While visiting this past weekend, we were able to do temple work for our ancestors in the Mt. Timpanogos temple together-a fun special experience.

Day trip to SLC

Up in Northern Utah to visit family. Spent the day with my twin grand daughters...we took the trax train from Draper to Salt Lake City's Temple Square. It was fun but a cold rainy day...

Poetry Weekend

Off to Mesquite Nevada's Fine Arts Gallery for the annual open house celebration for those poets who had poems selected for artist's to make art works. Not shown Bonnie's poem and photo. Then it was time to fly to SLC for a poetry conference. More on that later.

Sorting through old photos

Lately I've been entering old photos in contests for literary magazines, many were rejected but some were selectedwhich is encouraging. The one on the bottom of Blue Solitude was accepted for Southern Quill magazines two years ago. Others just capture a moment of nature's beauty to relive. What do you enjoy most about photography?

Planting/gardening TIME

Since my hubby is reluctant to garden in our hot desert climate and puny soil, it's a major accomplishment to have convinced him to plant some onions and tomato plants this year.  We'll see what kind of crop we get...I was thrilled to get him to plant some new shrubs for those that died over the wintertime.

Thanks to Hubby for Honeydos, replacing some dying plants.

Dusty Miller will add to our landscaping now.

Thanks to Daniel's' family for a cactus that won't die

Lots of onions are growing, so we'll have some for cooking and salads!

Tomato plants are small now, also grape vines are regrowing

Roses are starting to bloom

Strawberries are blooming like crazy also.

Looks like there will big berries this year.

   

This is hard on hubby's knees and back muscles, even with knee pads.

National POETRY MONTH

Had a special poetry reading at our local library with  college students from Dixie State University. It was the first time we had done a joint activity like this and it was enjoyable.

About 25 people attended, college students and community people

Another Drive in our Redrock Country

The day started out rainy but soon cleared and was sunny.

I love redrocks, cedar trees and greenness of Spring here.

Driving a circle around Gunlock and Veyo was fun to do today.
