Day Trip to the MOUNTAINS

Time to head for the cool Cedar Mountains when our temperatures hit 110+ degrees.
Those green things are trees and Navaho Lake is in the background.

It a real live antelope, this is the land where they roam!
Pastoral setting near Panguitch Lake, so cool and refreshing-would like to live here.
It's a little stream meandering through this little valley.
Panquitch Lake is popular for boating and fishing.
Parowan Canyon another canyon near Cedar City.

Keeping Cool...

Enjoying our community pool in the morning hours before the crowds come.
It feels like I'm on a cruise ship or on vacation, walking in the pool and sunbathing.
Hubby keeps cool working on the boat in our AC cooled garage.
He's planing boards now for the seating inside the boat.
They will fit perfectly before being attached inside, this guy is a perfectionist!

Celebrating PIONEER DAY 2016

Weaver and spinners are demonstrating this pioneer craft!
Parley P. Pratt, an early pioneer joined in the celebration aka Ross Peterson.
Geaneal and Pat sang Sons and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers
A special speaker spoke of pioneer stories that were amusing.
Cathy shows off some of the fun quilts displayed.
DeeAnn and Diane helped pull this all together
Judy stands in front of an intricate quilt displayed that was just stunning.
Quilts and artifacts were so interesting, most of us have antiques in our homes.
Click to enlarge this photo to see details inside the box and family photos.
Family histories and old photos are precious and need to be preserved.
We feasted on pies and ice cream and socialized with friends.
Lots of soon to be pioneers in the crowd.
The program ended with fun old time fiddle and guitar music.

Finding NEW FRIENDS

No matter your age, it's always fun to make new friends by sharing confidences and making new connections. I think women thrive on it while most men are busy doing other important things...lol! So what comes from CONNECTING? A realization that we all have our own trials and probably wouldn't trade our own situation with anyone else's. Just sharing your life's stories with a friend helps clarify what you have learned...and are learning. LIFE IS GOOD!

Going CRAZY with GOOGLE

Well guess what GOOGLE took over BLOGGER of which I have four or more blogs. Then they sent me two different emails saying that my domain registration annual fee for one of them had gone through, then a few days later saying it didn't go through. So I try to go to my Admin.Google.com site to see what is going on and they say I need a Google for Work account for $70/year to continue.

Next I try to find a number to call for help. Of course there is no number readily available except the FORUMs for other disgruntled Google users. I look over all the info there and  find no answers. Then I turn to my computer guru son Daniel who listens patiently and assures me that everything is okay, but it isn't. Finally through some chance I discover a number 866-339-0879 and explain to some fellow in India whose English is barely understandable my problem and he sends me to technical support who after many questions, emails etc resets my admin. google password. It was easier before GOOGLE took over BLOGGER.

Being a compter literate grandma as my son labeled me isn't easy or fun but at least I'm still online barely....I love and HATE computers. But at least my BRAIN is still working I think IF I CAN REMEMBER ALL THE PASSWORD CHANGES I'VE MADE IN THE LAST TWO HOURS!!!! What's your experience with computers?

Summer visitors...

Summer visitors, my twin grand daughters: l-r Heather and Emilee soon off to college.
Daniel brought the twins for a short visit and had to see the boat project in the garage.
Never ending days of apoxying after a 4 month vacation of not working on the boat.
Before hubby applies apoxy, he masks those parts that don't need glue on them.
This is the back seat part of the boat that will have floor boards and seats

Letting GO

Each day comes, then quickly leaves
as the sun sets on my activities.
It's time to rest and start over.

Letting go of regrets, resolving
to do better tomorrow helps
celebrating successes of each day.

Too soon our life is over, past
accomplishments rest gently
while unrealized dreams wait.

What are your waking dreams
not expressed only longing
in your heart to be achieved?

Happy 240th BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

I'm proud to be an American and of our history, ideals and promises to all. I love singing the national anthem, parades, bands and revering our military. Our family has a long history of military heroes going back in time to the Revolutionary War times, War of 1812, Civil War, World War I and II. Men and women not afraid to enlist and fight for the liberty and freedom of our nation and other nations.

America allows dissent and choice but it was formed One Nation Under God and our motto is in God we Trust. May we never lose this basic freedom and respect for other's choices. Happy Birthday America, land of my birth.

The song of a monsoon rainstorm is so welcome in our heat!
On to the Fourth of July and recognizing our freedoms!
We'll celebrate quietly at home next to our AC in comfort!
