Fun Day with Family

My husband's oldest daughter Deborah, her oldest daughter Jessica and her daughter Emma-that's four generations visited us from Utah Valley for the weekend for a baby shower for Deborah's son Adam and his wife Rebecca who are expecting a little boy. Lots of grand and great grandchildren about. Lots of time was spent talking genealogy, family memories of my husband's growing up in Texas, out to lunch at Chinese buffet and then to a local park. Wonderful weather in the 60s.

Emma, Jessica, Allen and Deborah

Lots of children and families enjoying the gorgeous almost springlike day

We all rode the train around the park which also features dinosaurs

In the summer it's hot and shade is needed, today it wasn't

All aboard!

All you can eat Chinese buffet that everyone enjoyed

There's a water park but it's mostly for summer days
Emma had to take her shoes off and try the cold water

Almost SPRINGTIME in Zion Park

Had to attend a meeting in Zion Park in preparation for POETRY in the PARK coming up in March. It was a perfect day sunny and almost 70 degrees in Jan to take a drive out there. Enjoy the beauty.

SHARE YOUR STORY

Our church's RELIEF SOCIETY had a fun socializing activity to get to know each other better. In our branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we have about 60 women who meet monthly for a mid-week activity filled with opportunities to socialize, serve and learn. We have lots of humanitarian projects planned. For this activity we were getting better acquainted by sharing our life's experience through a series of questions. Then we enjoyed homemade soups and rolls. It was a fun day.

We saw a beautiful video/song about our Savior's love for us.

How's your NEW YEAR going?

Hopefully you are continuing with good habits or practices developed last year and striving to IMPROVE yourself daily. Even CONGRATULATING YOURSELF on making progress if only in little ways.

Life is a challenge for all of us and if you think differently then you don't know your friends, family or associates very well. Everyone faces TRIALS whether health, relationships or self worth. But as long as we KEEP TRYING, we haven't FAILED. And remember that PRAYER is always a resource for help from above.  All it takes is a humble heart and FAITH in a higher power.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my son DANIEL

What a fun, creative, loving son Daniel has been since he joined our family on Jan 9, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin on a cold snowy morning. Our second son, he had an older brother Frank and two more brothers Brook and Jeffrey who would join our family later. Now Daniel and his wife Tina have their own family with grownup twin daughters and two teenage sons. What a major accomplishment raising a family in this day and age, but Daniel does it with gusto, energy, humor and love. He reaches out to the family to gather us together and is one BUSY DUDE-teaching digital media at Utah Valley University, and juggling all the activities of a growing family with health issues, teenage angst and school challenges. HURRAH for DANIEL assisted by his wife TINA who just recovered from treatments for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. HAPPY BIRTHDAY and many more...

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2020

Well after 9 hours of sleep last night, I'm ready to go with a NEW YEAR. Been up since 6:30 am with prayer, journal and scripture study makes for a GREAT BEGINNING for me. Here's an article that touched my heart this morning as I studied https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2009/10/more-diligent-and-concerned-at-home?lang=eng

Some principles that can help all of us by Elder Bednar of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in our families and relationships:

1. EXPRESS LOVE AND SHOW IT MORE IN OUR FAMILIES

2. BEAR TESTIMONY OF OUR FAITH IN GOD AND LIVE IT

3. BE CONSISTENT
