Changes to tree and bunny

Unfortunately our memosa tree in the back yard has bores that are eating it inside and weakening the limbs, so it was time to have it cut down.

Without leaves it's difficult to see our dead tree in front.
It only took minutes to cut down the big limbs hopefully landing in our yard
Brave young man climbed the tree to cut down the limbs
We're surrounded by  neighbors so it was good the branches came
down in our yard...
There's not much tree left to stand on, but he's up there
The stump after the branches were cut down...
Our view now the neighbor's tree which has room to keep growing.
Our ceramic bunny took a hit-never to be the same again...lol!
The stump, perhaps I'll glue the bunny together and put it here.

  2. It's always sad to lose a tree, but good that you had someone who could take it down. The cost of that here is astronomical.

  3. The stump would be a great place for a pot too! Glad you were able to get it down and out without too much damage.

  4. grrrr.... I hate losing anything that I planted and has been growing in my yard for a while. I almost take it personally, Now, is that weird, or what? Anyway, when I lost our Golden Rain tree I was semi depressed for weeks. It added so much to our yard! You still have a great view, and your neighbor's tree looks like it could almost offer you a little shade.

And... now you have a new bunnie. I'd still try and glue the old one back together. He was pretty cool. It may not have worked for Humpty Dumpty.... but he was just an egg. Rabbits are good luck!

  6. We had to take three trees out of our backyard this fall. It was a sad day for me, as they were beautiful trees. We'll be replacing them next Spring.

Too bad about your bunny, but I like your idea of setting his fixed self on your tree stump. He might enjoy his new post.
