February is HERE!

Without my ancestral parents who fell in love,
courted and married, I wouldn't be here.
I'm going to post some photos of couples,
some of my ancestors who are responsible
for me being here today with all my genes.

This good looking couple are my paternal great grandparents
Clara Wilkins and George Stevens-parents of my dad's mother

Paternal 2nd great grandparents Oscar Wilkins from England
and Elizabeth Durragh from Scotland (parents of Clara above)

Photos tell you lots about the people, the first two photos
are well to do merchants compared to this one of my farmer
great grandparents Joseph Vernon and wife Sarah Elizabeth Malin
both born in England. I love his bib overalls.

Parents of Joseph Vernon, Francis Vernon and Elizabeth Cottrell
they immigrated to Utah from Derbyshire England
after joining the Mormons. He was a rock mason and farmer.
It's mind boggling to think of all the ancestors we have.

  2. Yes, don't ya love it? My ancestors (two sets of siblings) married their spouses on V-day in the same church on the same day...yay!

  3. Old photos are fun, and do give a glimps of those who came before. Our stairwell is lined with ancestral photos.
