Change of PLANS

We cancelled our trip to Texas to head to Idaho
to look at possible land for a summer place, BUT
blizzards came to the area we were going to visit.
So we're still home, plans change-they sometimes do.

Understanding how to be flexible and adapt to
changes is so necessary then making the best of it.
New opportunities will open up as one door closes.
Now we'll plan for April and exploring Idaho then.

In the meantime we will visit with family in Utah
celebrating Thanksgiving together and bonding.
Family time is so rare in our society, I'm thankful
for Thanksgiving and other holidays that bring us closer.

  1. You are so right about plans changing. We were planning on our son's family at our house for Thanksgiving; found out this morning that they weren't going to be able to make it. So, we shifted gears and arranged to go there. Plans are trickier when airline tickets are involved, but what good is money if one doesn't spend it for a good cause?

  2. Makes me think of UCLA basketball coach John Wooden. He said when we do our best, things turn out as they should--which is not necessarily as we want them to. An important point.

    Thanks for this great post.

  3. On the mainland, you have to be ready for anything. It's always good to be flexible. We're having our Thanksgiving on Wednesday because a couple of family members have to work on Thanksgiving. One works in a hotel and the other at Walmart.
