Get ready to start another new month tomorrow. Don't know where October went but it's gone after a flurry of activity.
No, no, no! Not November already! I've still got so much to do and we've got a trip to California lined up. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteit is that time of the year again my favorite holiday.. Hakan and Frank are clone troopers AGAIN! we are doing really well with not consuming candy, in huge amounts, and Hakan knows that rest of the candy is going to garbage. large dose of vitamin C balances out the sugar madness too. but most importantly Hakan is well informed about what kind of damage candy does to his brand new permanent teeth that are coming in ..kids get it when you explain to them..

ReplyDeleteAs a smalkl child Christmas was, of course, my favorite time of the year. But as I got a wee bit older Thanksgiving btook over in that first place position and remained there as an adolescent, a teenager and a young adult. I loved having parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors and friends stopping by to share food and stories. Then I moved away from family and the HUGE celebration we shared over the Thanksgiving Holiday together.
I married, had children, and before you knew it, Christmas was my favorite once again.
Halloween was never even in the running. Wayne always enjoyed the little ones coming to the house and he always dressed up and teased and played with them when he answered the door, his fists loaded with treats for them.
I don't decorate for Halloween, although Chandi and I have taken to making some pretty incredible witch's hats (if I do say so myself). We sold a few, had several orders for several more that we just couldn't find the time to fill... so it's become more fun for us. I also did an LDS activity for the kids called, "The Seven Dayds of Witchalena" that turned the darkness of the holiday into more of a spiritual celebration that was cute and funny. We all LOVED that!
Anyway... fun porch. I'm hoping to see if for myself in the next week or ten days. (crossing fingers)
May this holiday be about generosity of spirit and kindness.
ReplyDeleteThis Halloween Ashton, myself and two nieces took part in a fund-raiser for Healthy Girls Hardy Women. We did the 5K walk and I made it! We made our own costumes, crayons, and had so much fun doing so. I do miss my children's going trick-or-treating. They were always so excited to pick out their costume.
