Nearing the end of SUMMER

Hurrah-although I'm thinking I'll miss this heat
when winter's cold winds and icy temps come.
How silly we are to always complain about what
we don't have, and not appreciate now till it's gone.

  1. Because of my love of summer, I never complain about heat. That leaves me free to gripe when it gets too cold. I've always wondered about those people who don't like either one--who have about a ten-degree comfort range. They must get only a couple of weeks during the year when they are truly comfortable.

  2. We always do that, don't we?? I want the cooler air but I know I won't appreciate it this winter.

  4. How true! We are having a heat wave...highs in the 90s for the next several days...I will take the heat over our cold and snowy winters though.

  5. True! I'm getting out there and soaking up that Vitamin D all I can. I love it. We'll be in our parkas soon enough!

  6. I am not a fan of hot weather, and we have certainly had way too much of it this summer! I am not one of the complainers about cooler temps...you can put on more layers of clothing and turn the heat up. I'm ready for fall!!

  7. I used to always think this when we lived in Illinois and January would hit those below zero temperatures. I have to say it's pretty much always comfortable here in Hawaii except when the trade winds leave.
