Farm Poems

HORSE TRAVEL

People rode horses or walked
before there were automobiles.
They'd saddle up old Betsy or
hook her to a wagon with wheels.

Off they’d go for a carefree ride
in winter, snuggling with all ages
in a crowded sleigh or buggy ride.
Then came the horseless carriages.

MILK COWS

Ever milked a cow?
It’s really lots of fun.
But watch out, for momma
for she can weigh a ton.

If you didn’t have a milk cow,
there was nothing to drink.
You’d have to buy your milk
from a farm. What do you think?

Hamburger comes from a cow, too.
Tasty steaks and nice roasts to eat.
We’d be hungry without cattle,
and cowboys to raise our beef meat.
