Oh I love this poem as it descibes the picture so well! I love to stumble across a piece of history like this and think about what part it played in the past.
The photo and the sentiment are lovely and make me think how out of sync I often feel with the natural world--and so dependent on my watch and the Weather Channel.
Since I grew up on a farm, and also my grandparents were farmers, I do tend to notice the abandoned and rusting farm equipment sitting in untended fields today. Good poem, Lin.

ReplyDeleteThings change so fast, and I sometimes think that it is not always progress happening. Sometimes we should go with 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it!'
ReplyDeleteThese old pieces of farm equipment always bring on feelings of nostalgia.
ReplyDeleteThis is really cool...both the photo and the poem!

ReplyDeleteThe poem and photo work so well together Lin...Sometimes I feel like an old piece of farm machinery...
ReplyDeleteThe poem says it all better than I, and when I see the old hay rack I want to cry.
