Peru Adventures

My son Daniel just returned from an adventure in Peru. Going with a group of men from his neighborhood, they hiked 60 miles up the Inca Trail and camped out at high altitudes on their way to Machu Piccu-the ancient ruins.

I'm sharing some of his photos taken there and sent by Internet to us. So happy to have him safely home, and his family-wife and four kids are thrilled that Dad is home.

Cute Peruvian kids. They are all smiles and full of life and vigor!

  6. Wayne and our boys took a two week Father/Son trip to Pero a couple of years ago.

They loved every minute of it.... even those that they hated. hmmmm, what IS she trying to say here?

They hiked hundreds of difficult miles, lived in squalor with a local family for five days...had to potty outside on the side of a hill and do a balancing act while relieving themselves, ate some horrific food, and were constantly bombarded by small children begging for money, food, attention...which broke all four of their tender hearts. Wayne is like The Pied Piper to little children...and it was no exception there... they attached themselves to him and followed him everywhere.

But... it was major highlight in their lives for all of them.

The magnificent scenery, and the time together, and the lessons learned are all fondly remembered and deeply valued.
