Smartfood

Driving back from Utah Valley from my Memorial Day visit, I needed something to keep me awake so I bought a new snack called Smartfood. It's white cheddar cheese flavored popcorn and I quite enjoyed eating it while driving although it is quite messy on the fingers. Not too many calories 160 for 1  3/4 cups and no sugar.

When I turned the package over I had to chuckle at what it said...Is it really smart to let yourself fall in love with a snack? Of course it is! We're talking about the fresh-tasting light-textured and air-popped popcorn adorned with the smooth white cheddar cheese flavoring you've grown to LOVE. You know you want it. You know where to get it. Now go out there and be SMART about it. Quite the sales pitch!

  1. Sounds good, have to look for it the next time I'm at the store! Love popcorn anyway! Thanks for the tip!

  2. Sounds tasty, I'll have to give it a try. Nibbling makes it easier to stay awake and alert while driving. Of course, if it is a bit salty then one has to have a drink handy and that requires a rest stop which is also good for staying alert.

  5. Sounds good. I'll try it...if the sodium content isn't too high.

  7. I enjoy finding ads that have fun and don't seem to be working too hard. My daughter loves that popcorn.

  8. Yup! It's a good salespitch allright. Got you and several others to buy it, eh? Actually, do you ever wonder about the reasoning behind having such well written blather on a snack bag? You bought it BEFORE you read it so it didn't sell you on the initial purchase. Then, if it's really good, you'll buy it again if it was in a plain bag with no more than a name, calorie content, and list of ingredients. If it's not good, you wouldn't buy it a second time no matter how clever their add agency is.

It really is tasty stuff. I'm a little TOO fond of white cheddar popcorn. One and a half cups doesn't quite seem like enough for me. So, in answer to their inquiry... No! It isn't smart to let yourself fall in love with a snack.
