Cycles and Recycling

It just occurred to me again, that's recycling, that my son is living my life as a parent over again. My dg-in-law Nedret sent me some fun family photos she took of my 6 ft 5 in oldest son Frank with their small 3 ft and 5 year old son Hakan.

They are building memories together as they went trick or treating in their neighborhood in Santa Fe. I love to see my son interacting with his son and the obvious love they share. It shows the family evolving into new generations yet bound to older generations-like me the grandma by love. Families are forever.

This photo of Hakan (on the left) in his kindergarten class shows he loves dinosaurs just like his dad did as a child. More recycling.

  2. I've never heard it put that way before. I like it! Your son and grandson look awesome! I bet your Grandson loved the fact that his Dad got all dressed up with him.

  3. I, too, am drawn to the picture of
Frank and Haken standing side by side in their look-a-like costumes. How neat is that??

It is a joy to see our children grow into parenthood. I'm constantly amazed at what tender, involved parents they are. They do so many things with and for their children that I wish I'd done. It almost makes me want to go back and do it over. I said, ALMOST.

It dawned on me a few weeks back, that on Wayne's side of the family... I am the matriarch. That feels just plain wierd.
